Discernment over decision making

There is a strange comfort in thinking small.

If we keep our expectations low, we protect ourselves from disappointment. If we stay in the shallow end, we don't have to worry about the tide. It feels safe… at least for a while.

But eventually, the cost of playing small starts to show up. It’s not a sudden crash; it’s a slow fade. It looks like restlessness, a lack of joy, or that nagging feeling that you’re just managing your life instead of actually living it. We think shrinking our dreams saves us from risk, but it actually costs us our vitality.

God-sized dreams are rarely about being famous or huge, they are about being obedient. Sometimes the riskiest thing you can do is stay exactly where you are when you know you were made for more. Safety isn't found in avoiding the deep water; it’s found in being where you’re supposed to be.

Reflection:

What is the safe choice costing your soul right now?
